Adventures Abound
Tutka Bay Lodge sits at the entrance to a splendidly rugged seven-mile fjord at the southern end of Kachemak Bay, near Homer, Alaska. The Tutka Bay area offers rugged coastlines, deep fjords, dramatic mountains, quiet beaches, old growth Sitka spruce forests, and amazing tidal fluctuations. Situated on an eleven-acre property, Tutka Bay Lodge offers a main lodge, six private guest accommodations, a sauna, hot tub and boat house – all connected by a boardwalk. The large deck offers seating as well as an area for helicopter landing.
Whilst at Tutka Bay Lodge learn the secrets of an award-winning chef during a cooking class in a rustic kitchen on a repurposed crabbing boat. Bask in the orange glow of Alaska’s midnight sun while digging for steam clams and plucking mussels in Tutka Bay. Launch a kayak or rowboat from the boathouse and paddle into the neighbouring fjord, discovering its secret coves and secluded islands. Soak in the wood-fired hot tub overlooking inky waters, enjoying views of forested isles and the surrounding snow-capped mountains. Hike the property’s nature trails, walking through forests of old-growth spruce and alongside tidal pools alive with sea stars and frilled anemones.
The lodge is open for the summer season, from early May through mid-September. Alaska’s southern coast is cool during this time of year and nighttime temperatures drop. Due to its location in the far north, Tutka Bay sees long periods of daylight during the summer months. Children are welcome guests at Tutka Bay Lodge, where experiences can be tailored for travellers of all ages. Large cabins accommodate families, and there are special dining menus and activities available for young guests.
Explore Alaska's Wild Interior

The hand built, knotty pine guest cabins provide luxury and cozy space to rest and rejuvenate after a day’s adventure.
Wolverine Mountain, behind the lodge, offers quick access to spectacular and varied hiking trails with access to viewpoints of Mt. Denali, migrating birds, wildflowers and berries that are difficult to see in other locales.
